Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Brown University in African-American Studies. The Tisch school of the arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue has a reputation as an American actor as well as a producer and director. She has worked in both film and television. She began her acting career in theater and later appeared in a number of television series and independent and mainstream movies. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she received critical acclaim and various nominations and awards including the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. In 1995 she debuted as Ariel on the stage on stage in The Tempest. Her stage credits include the Broadway production that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is best known for her performances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In the world of television, her role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
